Summer Camp @ the Piton Community School!

Each summer since 2016, the school has organized a summer camp which is an extension of the regular school year but a bit more fun. They have bible study, work in the garden, serve daily meals, and have plenty of play time.

This year there are several families coping with trauma from the violence happening throughout the country. So there will be workshops for adults and children alike to help them cope and discuss ways to reduce violence. Police and security personnel will also be present to educate, encourage, and help the village form a plan for protection.

Faith formation continues during summer camp. It's more important now than ever to incorporate biblical truth into our education and training.

As always, agriculture will be a big part of summer activities. The students are beginning to work their own gardens! And Samuel works year round with a group of women to produce food and coffee for family, community, and to sell for profit.

The estimated cost for summer camp is $2,500 for approximately 8 weeks.

Imagine. Air, hot and sticky and thick. A home made of crude concrete blocks, crumbly and rough. Windows made of uncovered holes in the wall, or of decorative brick that allow little air to flow through.
